Industrial refrigeration for extrusion lines

For Dumaplast USA, FAC delivered a complete refrigeration solution for a new production site in the United States.
The system was developed to support multiple extrusion lines, ensuring stable temperature control and continuous operation throughout the production process.
The installation is designed to perform consistently while adapting to the demands of different production lines.

Technical analysis

The project started with a detailed technical study, including capacity sizing, flow rates, buffer requirements and heat exchange.
Based on this, a Carrier chiller (30RB 080 – 329 kW) was selected and integrated into a broader system designed to deliver efficient refrigeration across the entire production setup.

Refrigeration circuit

The installation includes:

  • Custom pump configurations (chiller pumps, production, compound and filter pumps)
  • Stainless steel piping and collector systems
  • Integrated heat exchangers (plate heat exchangers TL6 BFM)
  • Hydraulic systems with pressure protection, instrumentation and filling systems
  • Filtration systems with bag filters (25–100 micron)
  • High-quality insulation using Armaflex

Automation

The installation is operated via a RITTAL control panel, providing full control over both pumps and chiller units.

The system also includes alarm management, safety features and clear labelling of all piping, ensuring a well-structured and easy-to-operate installation.

Project delivery

FAC managed the full coordination and execution of the project, including technical planning, supplier coordination and international logistics support for export to the United States. The refrigeration system was assembled and installed on site, including bypass controls, connections and valves.

FAC technicians provided on-site support and commissioning, ensuring the system was fully aligned with the local infrastructure and production flow.

Ongoing support

AC continues to support Dumaplast USA with maintenance, spare parts supply and technical assistance when needed, to ensure long-term production continuity.
